Is this argument a good argument?

It is not very difficult to be the top 25% of the society. All you need is hardwork. Let me show you the chain of reasoning.

In this world, there are more idiots than geniuses, say 20% geniuses and 80% idiots. Some genius (70%) think that they are too smart, leading them to be lazy. Even more idiots(80%) think that they are born to be idiots, and they can never think that they will overtake the idiots. When the results is out, the ranking will logically be
  1. genius + hardworking (6%)
  2. idiot + hardworking(16%)
  3. genius + lazy(14%)
  4. idiot + lazy(64%)

So, if you are a hard working person, you will automatically be either 1 or 2, which is 25% of the society.

I have published this before, and some people say it is a piece of shit. If there is anything wrong with my reasoning feel free to criticise.

I would love to publish a counter-argument over this but I guess since I do not belong in the first two categories, I would follow my characteristic and not be hardworking. Its true that being hardworking even if you aren't smart would make you better but each human has its limit.

Being a genius and lazy is a waste, but in the first place, there aren't real geniuses. Just because someone learns things in a blink of an eye, remembers it like a computer doesn't make the person a genius. That person is just efficient. His or her mind is able to focus completely the moment it is needed and therefore is able to do such spectacular things. Labeling these people geniuses is just like labeling someone ugly or handsome or pretty, rich or poor, white or black. Its a form of discrimination against these people just because they can do things a little better or have things a little easier.

Perhaps its easier to wonder why some people are labeled as idiots. Fairness to say, they aren't necessarily idiots. They could be geniuses in other field. Many times have we come across people who don't possess the academic skills to succeed in life (which we think is necessary) but manage to do well and sometimes reach the top.

Are they hardworking? They might be. Just as in the second category explained. But more often than not, that is not the case. They may just be plain normal workers or be lazy. But when the moment comes, they are able to focus their power. Seize the moment they say.

I may not have the statistical knowledge to prove this arguments but my point here is that classifying people as geniuses and idiots do not work. It is just a blatant line of generalization.

weiyang, referring to himself as category 3 person, tells us in paragraph 2 that he is a waste

WTF. Damn long la. I thought you were lazy. Who wants to find the flaws in this argument? Marks are given for shortness of answer.
